I run Shopify stores and manage ad traffic, so I'm always trying to figure out why people click an ad but don't buy. TruConversion has been a solid way to see that without paying monthly for a Hotjar-style tool.

What I use most:

Session recordings: Watching real visitors move through a product page and bounce before checkout shows you things your analytics never will. Slow-loading sections, ignored add to cart buttons, confusing variants, you can see all of it.

Heatmaps: Click and scroll maps tell me if people actually reach my reviews, shipping info and CTA. I've used them to move things higher on the page.

Smart funnels: I can track product page > cart > checkout and see exactly where people drop off. This is the part that matters when you're testing creatives and landing pages and need to know if the problem is the ad or the store.

Form analytics: Handy for checkout and email capture forms to see which fields cause friction.

Setup was just one tracking code, and it works with Shopify.

Pros:
- Funnels, heatmaps, recordings, form analytics and surveys in one dashboard
- Simple enough that I'm not digging through reports
- Lifetime deal is a big saving for anyone running multiple stores

Things to know:
- If you run a lot of traffic across many domains, check the page view limits on your tier
- Still a smaller tool than the big names, so a few integrations are missing

If you run an ecom store and want to stop guessing why visitors aren't converting, this is well worth the price. Easy 5 stars.

I can no longer trust TruConversion for session recordings and heatmaps. This is the 3rd time my session recordings have stopped automatically—first in 2024, then 2025, and now again in 2026—without any prior notification. This records the sessions successfully for few days and then stops automatically without any warning email, despite the recordings are still showing turned on and the tracking code is working fine.

I contacted support each time, but there has been no permanent solution. The worst part is that it happens when I actually need to analyse my landing-page data, leaving critical session recordings missing.

After seeing the exact same issue repeatedly over three years, I find it very difficult to believe this is simply a random system glitch. I strongly suspect that lifetime-deal users may be deprioritized for resource-intensive features to reduce infrastructure costs.

For me, this makes TruConversion unreliable for serious analytics and session recording, and I would not recommend depending on it for critical data.

Being myself an analytics professional working with all kinds of tools, Tru conversion is truly holding up! I saw some saying that they had some struggle with the installation, I do not agree. It was seamless for me.
My wish for the future development is an MCP or API so TruConversion can be part of an agentic flow.

I used Hotjar in the past, so I was already familiar with this type of analytics tool, but I’m really glad I discovered TruConversion.

It offers the features I actually need to understand how visitors interact with my websites, including heatmaps, session recordings, and conversion insights, all in one place. The interface is straightforward and easy to use, and so far my experience has been very positive.

For me, it feels like a very solid alternative to Hotjar, especially if you manage multiple websites and want a practical way to better understand user behaviour and improve conversions.

Very happy I found it and looking forward to using it more.

I've added the features to my website. Mine is new, so I am not expecting to see much in the early stages, but so far, so good.
