You are right, currently InstaCharts only allows you to add a title, multiline subtitle and axis titles.
I believe you are referring to chart annotations, where you can place text and other visuals yourself on the chart. I've added this to our roadmap here: https://instacharts.canny.io/feature-requests/p/add-chart-annotations No ETA on when this will be done however.

Q: Can I Use webhooks
Hello, could you please help me understand a couple of things?
Am I able to use webhooks? I would like to pull data from Airtable as well as other databases I'm using, including those that pass through Boost.Space.
If yes, could you please explain how the transaction limits work?
Currently InstaCharts does not offer webhooks. We do have chart templates, which allow you to make temporary charts by building a chart url yourself. A full example on how to set up and use a chart template can be found here: https://instacharts.io/docs/guides/generate-charts-using-templates/
There are limits to chart generation via chart templates. Tier 1 users (solo plan) can generate up to 1,000 charts a month using chart templates, and Tier 2 (pro plan) can generate up to 5k charts a month. If you'd like to try it out for free, you can generate 100 charts per month on the free plan.
InstaCharts also offers syncing from Google Sheets & Google Drive. If you can get your Airtable or database data into a Google Sheet, you can automatically sync it to InstaCharts. More info on how to do that here: https://instacharts.io/docs/guides/import-google-sheets/
I hope this helps to answer your question - please feel free to reach out with any further questions. Bart
Thanks for checking out InstaCharts and taking the time to ask a question.

Q: Programmatically create and export charts via API?
Hello, your app looks very cool. My use-case is to create dynamic reports for my clients.
Id love to be able to trigger the creation of a chart with google sheet or JSON data and then request the resulting chart as a public image to access.
I want to create and retrieve a chart via an API call (or possibly by dynamic URL query). parameters.
Side Note: Zapier is the popular choice, but many people who use appsumo have a bit more of a technical skillset and would possible make use of an agnostic API rather than a zapier integration. Or they would possible use appsumo automation platforms like 'active pieces'.
Personally I use "n8n".
Is this currently possible, or do you see it being a feature within the next month or two?
I have good news. Our Zapier integration is just a UI wrapper around our chart templates API.
The chart templates API allows you to create chart images, interactive charts and embedded charts on the fly. Read more about them here: https://instacharts.io/docs/guides/generate-charts-using-templates/
You can use chart templates to create any type of chart (line, bar, pie) with any kind of data that you specify. You can change any kind of chart setting you'd like. Here is a list of chart settings you can change in chart templates: https://instacharts.io/docs/automation/chart-templates/
The chart templates API was written for the more technically minded users - I hope you find it useful!

Q: create a calculator from a lead
Hello, Am I able to create a calculator inside Instacharts so that I can autoimport the number which instachart formulas create results and be able to attach those results automatically to an email? Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to check out InstaCharts and ask a question!
Forgive me, if I get this wrong. I think you are asking if you can automatically send data results from InstaCharts to another application - like email. If so, the answer is no.
InstaCharts does not have a way to automatically send data to another application. (InstaCharts can however send chart images to other applications through chart templates or our zapier integration)
We may add this functionality in the future but do not have any plans to at the moment.
Let me know if you need help with anything else! Bart Howe
Hi! Thanks for asking a follow up question for more clarification! The plans offered on Appsumo are identical to the ones offered on the InstaCharts website (1 code = Solo Plan, 2 codes= Pro plan). Appsumo users (whether you buy 1 code or 2 codes) are considered paid users, and can set up sync schedules. So yes, Tier 1 users (Appsumo users who buy 1 code) can set sync schedules. Hope this helps!
Q: About connect DB problem?
Would you plan a roadmap of supporting connect MYSQL like ChartBrick, thanks
We currently have no plans to add database connections. With enough interest, we will reconsider! I've added a ticket for mysql database connections. You can check out its progress here: https://instacharts.canny.io/feature-requests/p/database-connections-mysql
I have a sheet that is automatically updated once a day. I would love to use InstaCharts, but I need the data in the chart to update automatically. Is this included in the Appsumo plan? I don't mind paying for the best Appsumo plan.
To answer your question - yes InstaCharts supports automatic updates from Google Sheets/Drive. InstaCharts uses sync schedules to automate the update. You can read more here: https://instacharts.io/docs/automation/sync-settings/
If your Google Sheet is updated the same time everyday, log into InstaCharts after it updates, run a manual sync, and set the sync schedule to daily. This will ensure the next sync occurs 24 hours later (after your sheet is next updated).
Yes, sync schedules are included in both AppSumo plans. Each sync counts as a task - the 1 code plan (InstaCharts Solo) comes with 1,000 tasks a month and the 2 codes plan (InstaCharts Pro) comes with 5,000 tasks a month. You should have plenty of tasks to run daily syncs on either plan.
I hope this answers your question! Let me know how else I can help. Bart

If I change the value of a data point in the spreadsheet, will the embedded chart automatically update to the latest value with the original embed code?
I currently don't need this, but the tool could become invaluable in the future. How long do you plan on being in AppSumo?
To answer your questions - No, if you change a value in a google sheets spreadsheet, it will not automatically update. You will need to set up a sync schedule to sync from Google Sheets to InstaCharts. You can read more about sync schedules here: https://instacharts.io/docs/automation/sync-settings/
If you update your data values from within InstaCharts, the embeds will automatically update with any new values.
How long are we staying on Appsumo? I am not sure, but I am thinking more in months, not years.
If I purchase "1 codes", can I upgrade at any time by buying an additional code? In other words, could I upgrade to the second plan? I look forward to your help to proceed with the purchase. Thank you.
Yes, you can upgrade to the second code (the pro plan) anytime (as long as the deal is still offered on Appsumo). When you buy another single code, apply it to your existing InstaCharts account here: https://instacharts.io/app/settings/plan . There should be an Appsumo branded text input to enter the second code.
If you have any issues, please feel free to send me an email at bart@instacharts.io.
Q: Disable open chart in new tab with iFrame embed
Could you add an option to disable the feature that allows users to open the chart in a new tab to view a larger version? My charts are already large enough, and I don't want users to break the chart out of the iFrame.
Thanks for trying out InstaCharts! I've added this to our roadmap. You can follow its progress here: https://instacharts.canny.io/feature-requests/p/embedded-chart-option-to-view-larger . No ETA on when this will be added.
InstaCharts integrates with Google Sheets. This means you can link a Google Sheet to InstaCharts and pull and sync data from your sheet. Here's two docs that shed light on this process:

Hello, looking for a Charting Tool for Data Capture I am looking for a charting tool to create a **Data Capture Program** for my equestrian clients. Thanks for checking out InstaCharts for your business! Doing some quick math, 80 data points a second (if that means 80 rows of data a second) will hit our max row limit on the pro plan of 100k rows for about 20 minutes of equestrian data. You could use InstaCharts if you split your data into separate spreadsheets of 100k rows each.
I understand that is not an ideal solution; you may be better off with full blown BI software - InstaCharts is more BI lite.

I was exploring the tool to better understand its capabilities before making a purchase. However, I can't figure out how to plot a second line on a line plot. Is this possible? Additionally, can I create a dashboard with different plots arranged next to each other? Thanks
To plot multiseries data, make sure each series name appears in one column, and all series values appear in another column. You may need to transform your data in order to achieve this. https://instacharts.io/docs/sheets/transform-data/

To answer your second question, InstaCharts does not offer dashboard capabilities at this time; you can however embed charts made with InstaCharts into your own webpages in a dashboard layout.
I hope this answers your questions! Let me know if I can help with anything else. Bart

Yes, currently you can export charts to both .png and .svg if you need a higher resolution chart.
You can embed an interactive chart into webpages you own. We do not currently offer a self hosted option for the entire analytics stack however.
I hope this answered your question! Let me know how else I can help.
