1. You create a transfer and send your drawing files and a message to your instructor. 2. You also create a file Request and send that open link to your instructor. 3. Your instructor receives your transfer, edits the file and submits the new file in the request link you created in step 2.
Thanks!
P.S. Instructor need not sign up to our service at all.
See lots of questions about upload speeds. Download speeds are terrible as well. First file download right now is ~350 kB/s. Subsequent (for each region) is faster, but first download is miserably slow. Considering doing an LTD, but I can't deal with speeds this slow. Clients will not be happy. Is there plans to address this?
A: Thanks for your concerns about download speeds. Here's a quick rundown:
Origin Server (HK): Our main server is in Hong Kong, meaning faster speeds for users closer to Asia (often 30MB/s+). There are plenty of users who are happy with the speeds too :) Performance does vary by location, this is true.
EU Servers: We're actively launching EU servers this year to improve speeds there. CDN: Correct, subsequent downloads are faster via our global CDN. Uploads go to our origin server, so recipients closer to Asia will see better speeds (around 3-5MB/s is typical elsewhere, with potential fluctuations).
LTD & Infrastructure: Our corporate subscriptions help us invest in infrastructure improvements for all users. We're not saying LTD speeds should suck, but we need to be practical when balancing infrastructure costs and economic viability.
We're working on making things faster for everyone!
Q: Are you planning to support password-protected digital downloads and embeddable scripts for flipbooks?
Hi, I'm looking for a solution that allows me to securely share digital downloads (e.g. eBooks, design files) with password protection or email verification, and ideally embed them (like digital flipbooks) into my site. Will Sinosend support features like embedding script codes, automated email delivery upon download, and user-restricted access in the near future? This would be especially useful for creators sharing premium content. Any ETA on these features?
A: Password Protection: Coming soon. It's a priority and actively being developed. No exact ETA yet. Automated Email Delivery: Already supported upon file download. Embedding & User-Restricted Access: Direct embedding isn't currently supported on LTD or even on our monthlys yet. However, you can host content on your custom subdomain with us. We are considering more advanced access controls for the future.
I want to host 500 gb of course video. I am from India. What is the bandwidth you provide per day and how many people can see video. I want people to see videos on my website directly. How can I get this done on WordPress.
A: Hi, I would suggest using another service for video hosting, as we're not the solution for you. We are a file transfer service and cant view or embed full videos on your site. Think of us a WeTransfer for business.
I tried uploading a single video file (6k raw Blackmagic camera file - 115GB) and when testing Sinosend, it started at just 3.5mbps, which is incredibly slow. At first it said it would take a day to upload... so I let it run and after 1 day, it's slowed down and says 2 MORE days to finish uploading.
Now it says 452 kB/sec (kiloBytes) and now it says 2 more days to upload.
What upload speeds should people expect from a fully updated Chrome browser on Gigabit Fiber Internet?
A: Our origin server is located in Asia, which means upload speeds can vary significantly depending on your physical location and network routing. Under optimal conditions, users on a Gigabit Fiber connection can typically expect upload speeds ranging from 40MB/s (MegaBytes per second) down to approximately 3.5MB/s (MegaBytes per second). However, the speeds you reported—starting at 3.5Mbps (Megabits per second) and later dropping to 452KB/s (KiloBytes per second)—are far below our normal range. We agree this is quite slow and not the experience we aim to provide.
To address this, we are actively working on expanding our infrastructure. We are currently testing new servers in Europe and the US, which will significantly improve upload speeds for users in these regions.
On the bright side, our download speeds are much faster since they are backed by a global CDN (Content Delivery Network). This ensures that once files are uploaded, they can be distributed efficiently to recipients worldwide.
We appreciate your patience while we work to improve our service. If you'd like, feel free to share additional details (e.g., your location, browser version, or any other specifics), and we'll investigate further to ensure you have the best possible experience.
Hello, I bought Tier 2 and have got 2 Plans, when I activate them will I be able to get the unlimited uploads or will it be 2 times a Tier 1. I am confused ... Thanks for confirming.
A: Hi, our team can help you, please email your account email to support@sinosend.com. You have T2 and have x2 of them, that means you have 4 codes? Yes you can upload unlimited number of times (within the storage limit)
Thank you for your reply, I wanted to order again, to see if this problem consists but forgot, once you ask for refund you cannot order same product again... Sorry, didn't want to contact any support, have already too many emails and stuff. Another time may be. Good luck and thank you again. Appreciate very much your quick answer.
Ah I see. we've had a few users who refund, and decided later to come back and love it, we're here so there is no rush!
Q: Time Horizon for EU Server and GDPR Compliance?
I have seen that there have already been some questions about this, and I would like to join in. Can you give a rough estimate of when the EU server and GDPR Compliance are expected to be available? Thank you! :)
Hard to say, but its something we are actively working on. We are looking at a soft launch in June, with a hopefull full rollout of EU & US regions in July 2025.
Q: what is difference between sinosend and swisstransfer
Hello, I would like to know the difference between SwissTransfer and SinoSend. SwissTransfer is free and open-source. Could you please tell me how SinoSend is better than that?
Sinosend and SwissTransfer both enable secure file sharing, but they cater to different needs. Here’s how Sinosend stands out, especially for businesses:
1. Branding & Customization Sinosend: Offers white-label solutions, including custom domains (e.g., files.yourcompany.com), company logos, and branded portals. You can toggle off all "Powered By" branding for a seamless professional experience. SwissTransfer: I dont see that it is open-source as I could not locate the Github repo, I suppose though you would need to setup your own backend to host your files, and manage the backups and technical aspect of maintaining your own secure cloud. It also seems to lacks advanced branding tools, making it less ideal for businesses.
2. Tracking & Analytics Sinosend: Provides real-time tracking (downloads, opens), geolocation with maps, I m not sure if Swisstransfer offers this, but since its opensource, you could dive in to the code and edit the code yourself.
3. Storage & Scalability Sinosend: Lifetime plans include 50 GB–3 TB storage, unlimited transfers (Pro/Business tiers), and support for sending files to 20–100+ recipients per email. SwissTransfer: Free but likely has storage/transfer limits typical of open-source solutions.
4. Collaboration & Team Use Sinosend: Supports team logins (2–50 users in Pro/Business plans) and shared workflows. SwissTransfer: Primarily designed for individual use.
5. Security & Compliance Sinosend: Encrypts data in transit and storage, with CNAME customization for secure, company-branded links. We also can send emails from your domain. Service like weTrasnfer and others send emails to your recipients form their domain. SwissTransfer: Secure but may lack enterprise-grade compliance features.
6. Transfer Size Sinosend: You can transfer up to 100GB per transfer, vs a maximum of 50GB with swisstransfer.
7. Additional Features Sinosend: File request portals. I dont think you can Request a file with SwissTransfer? We I also dont think you can leave a voice message along with your files.
SwissTransfer: Simplicity for quick, no-frills transfers, and it also has Password protection and some controls as to how many times a user can download a file, (which we dont offer yet) Also Swiss Transfer data data is stored in Switzerland which would likly make it GDPR compliant (which we are not). SwissTransfer is owend by a Swiss ISP, and has a commercial software called KDrive for a monthly fee which is similar to dropbox.
Hope we were able to give you some differences. I Think SwissTransfer is great, and we have not heard about it untill you mentioned, although I dont think its opensource?
A: We don't support embedding yet, but we do understand the need for it. Instead as a workaround, you could place a link on your site which would redirect them to your branded request page on your own custom subdomain, none of our branding would be seen.
Any update on API/webhooks containing the final URL? Development seems a bit slow on this project, no offence. No in progress items on the roadmap even.
None taken! No API plans in development as mentioned and will not for the remainder of our time here.
However we do have a number of items on our roadmap either in Planned or In Progress which you can view here: https://sinosend.com/roadmap/?status=in-progress
A: Our Origin servers (where your data is stored are in Asia, specifically Singapore and Hong Kong). When you download the files the data is delivered by our Global CDN network.
Hi. Maybe this has already been asked or addressed, but I can't find an answer.
As part of a team, I have created request directories for our clients, one for each. However, my business partner (and account owner) can't see those requests and presumably the files that will land in them. Is there a way to have a SHARED request for clients so we all can access these files?
A: Hi Sean. Thanks for your support. Great feedback.
This morning I've tasked our amazing devs to work on this (infact this was in our backlog ever since we created Teams).
With your Tier3 Business account you can add up to 5 team members within the same organization (ideally within the same custom domain name). Each team member has/can:
- Get a unique login and dashboard. - Customize their own background for Transfers & Requests - Change their profile Image, but not your company logo. - Share transfers with other members, so you see the their transfers in your dashboard. - Team members can only delete, remove their own transfers
Currently when you create a request, there isn't an option to share it with other team members, you can only share the link, but that isn't useful for other members within your org,
Coming Soon (based on your email) - Request Sharing. When you create a request you can share it with team members - You can limit the size of File requests - You can limit the expiry date of the request - You can send the request by email to your recipient or as a link
In the QA, you said: "Your files are stored for the lifetime of your account, provided you log in at least once a year or after the file express expiration date, which you can set in your dashboard."
Does this mean that users must log in at least once a year to keep their accounts active and prevent suspension or deletion?
While it's not a strict, immediate rule, generally, when you create a file transfer, you have the option to set an expiry date. For instance, if you set an expiry for one week, the file will expire, meaning recipients can no longer access it after those seven days. However, the file itself won't be deleted, it will still be accessible within your admin dashboard where you can reset the expiry date. If you choose 'Never expire,' your recipients will always have access to the transfer. The yearly login requirement primarily addresses situations where lifetime deal customers store hundreds of gigabytes of data but don't log in for extended periods or sometimes never log in again. In such cases, after one year of inactivity, only the transfers you've already set to expire will be considered for deletion. This approach is more flexible than many other paid transfer solutions like WeTransfer or pCloud, which often delete your files immediately after expiry.
To summarize, your account will never be suspended (unless it is against our TOS) And only files which you have not accessed AND that you have set to expire will be deleted after long periods of inactivity. We hope this clarifies things! We appreciate you reading our Q&A.
We have a fairly simple media player to preview videos; but we're not a video platform..The video player is for you to your recipient to preview the video or audio files).
We don't currently allow embeds, although that may be coming soon to some plans.
We’ve had SinoSend in our cart for a while now, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet because we’ve been waiting for the EU servers to launch. Is it possible to go ahead and purchase the codes and activate our account and start using it right away, of course, and then switch from Asia to EU once the EU servers are available?
Also, is that something we can do ourselves? What’s the best way to go about this?
We hope to hear from you soon, especially before the price goes up.
Other question, will you give your roadmap a update? We don’t believe there is nothing in progress :-) We would like to follow te EU server works.
A: Hey there! It's fantastic to know you're looking forward to our EU storage servers – we really appreciate your patience.
We've been heads down lately, rolling out some exciting updates, including:
- Background customizations - Custom email domains - Teams (allowing multiple seats per account) - And a good number of under-the-hood fixes! - You're spot on about the EU servers. We're still actively developing them. For new users, the plan is to let you choose your server location right when you create your account. For existing users who'd like to switch, we'll likely offer two options: 1) starting fresh with a new account, or 2) migrating your data for a small fee.
If GDPR compliance is a key concern for you, it would be best to wait until our EU servers are fully up and running. The price difference shouldn't be significant (and honestly, a lot of that is outside our control!). Alternatively, if the speed of our current Asia servers is acceptable for you (you can test the transfer speed on our homepage – most users see around 20MB/s in Asia and about 5MB/s elsewhere, though it can vary), you could get started now.
When will you be GPDR compliant and when will you have EU servers? Does it make sense to invest now and just wait with redeeming the codes until we will be able to select the EU servers during the registration process?
I would wait if you need GDPR compliancy. Please add your upvote and following here so you will be notified about it: https://sinosend.com/roadmap/p/eu-region-gdpr
When we complete this addition you will be notified -- That would be best.
A: Hi, no, we send files, and receive files, organize them and notify you. We are however looking in to collecting payments or password protecting files before downloading.
1) I just took a ‘Test Drive’ from your website and uploaded 6x files totalling 500mb. My question is, as this was a trial and I have not created an account, yet, was the upload slow (compared to my 'WeTransfer' and 'FromSmash Pro' accounts because it was a free trial? Once I create an account, will it upload faster? It took 6x longer than my Pro accounts.
2) How long can I store a file or files before your system deletes it?
A: Currently, our origin servers are located in Asia, which can affect upload speeds for users in other regions. However, our download CDN is global, ensuring your recipients experience fast download speeds. This difference between upload and download speed is common in many file transfer services.
We are continuously working to improve our service and plan to add more origin servers as we grow. While we appreciate the comparison to WeTransfer, as a lifetime deal, we have to manage our costs carefully to ensure long-term sustainability. At this time, upload speeds are similar to those you may experience with the trial version.
Your files are stored for the lifetime of your account, provided you log in at least once a year or after the file express expiration date, which you can set in your dashboard.
Thank you for being so transparent about your service. Yes, for pricing and the type of deal, I totally understand what you are saying :-)
Q: Can this be used as permanent storage like Google Drive?
Our Google Drive is 200 GB and running out fast, but the next tier is 2 TB—way too much for my client's needs. We are looking for another place to store files. Thank you!
A: Hi, unfortunately, we're not a Google Drive alternative :) We currently don't support folders and are not a backup solution. But we are a fantastic file transfer service. So if you want to transfer your catalog, document or large file, or want to create a Download portal, we are the perfect solution.
Q: is it also possible to brand the image in the login mask ?
Hello, is it also possible to brand the image in the login mask ? e.g. https://daten.brunnbauer.at/login ?
What is the link so that other people can send files to SinsoSend ? So not only downloading but also in the other direction ...
I have seen that this is apparently a new function ?

Will they be able too send the corrected images back to me? Without your service.
Thank you,

Edited May 12, 2025A: Hi Nick,
Indeed yes.
1. You create a transfer and send your drawing files and a message to your instructor.
2. You also create a file Request and send that open link to your instructor.
3. Your instructor receives your transfer, edits the file and submits the new file in the request link you created in step 2.
Thanks!

To summarize, your account will never be suspended (unless it is against our TOS) And only files which you have not accessed AND that you have set to expire will be deleted after long periods of inactivity. We hope this clarifies things! We appreciate you reading our Q&A.

Ok, understood. Thank you.
Q: Do you have a built-in media player where files can be shared or embedded via html?
Rishi_Sinosend
Apr 21, 2025A: Hey Roberto;
We have a fairly simple media player to preview videos; but we're not a video platform..The video player is for you to your recipient to preview the video or audio files).
We don't currently allow embeds, although that may be coming soon to some plans.

Q: Switch from Asia to EU server
Hi SinoSend Team,
We’ve had SinoSend in our cart for a while now, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet because we’ve been waiting for the EU servers to launch.
Thanks in advance and all the best

Apr 19, 2025A: Hey there! It's fantastic to know you're looking forward to our EU storage servers – we really appreciate your patience.
We've been heads down lately, rolling out some exciting updates, including:
- Background customizations
- Custom email domains
- Teams (allowing multiple seats per account)
- And a good number of under-the-hood fixes!
Thanks so much for your continued support!

Q: can it work as a SaaS?
I mean collecting payments from users to use?
Rishi_Sinosend
Apr 18, 2025A: Hi, no, we send files, and receive files, organize them and notify you. We are however looking in to collecting payments or password protecting files before downloading.

Q: Before I Jump In ...
Rishi_Sinosend
Edited Apr 16, 2025A: Currently, our origin servers are located in Asia, which can affect upload speeds for users in other regions.

Thank you!

Apr 14, 2025A: Hi, unfortunately, we're not a Google Drive alternative :) We currently don't support folders and are not a backup solution. But we are a fantastic file transfer service. So if you want to transfer your catalog, document or large file, or want to create a Download portal, we are the perfect solution.
